OTHER: The Majorette Mix Hollyhock is a star in my eyes! I've always been a huge fan of regular tall Hollyhocks, but the Majorettes can go places the others can't go. Reaching a height of only 30" (versus 7 feet tall) they are much more versatile & can fit into smaller gardens as a bedding plant, be used in borders, & can even be grown in containers.

The huge 3 1/2" double flowers are extremely showy, covering the stalks top to bottom with tons of blooms in mid summer. The buds open from the bottom & work their way up to give you a nice long bloom time. Cut some to enjoy indoors, or leave them outside to share with the bees, butterflies, & HUMMINGBIRDS that will be equally delighted with their blossoms.

While this Hollyhock is technically a biennial, they are able to bloom in the first year from seed if they are started early enough, so what are you waiting for? Lol. Hollyhocks are easy to grow from seed, grow quickly, and require basically no attention once they have taken off. In moderate climates like we enjoy here in Ohio Hollyhocks grow best in full sun, but in more temperate climates can benefit from some partial shade.

OTHER: Native only to the US, Blue Spruce has been widely introduced around the globe, hugely popular for its ornamental beauty & adaptability. Like many, I myself love the gorgeous silvery blue of the foliage. Blue Spruce trees really catch the eye & will stand out in the landscape. Being extremely cold hardy & able to live in the drastically cold temperatures of zone 1 as well as the warmth of zone 8’s climate, they can thrive in a large variety of areas. They are popular as specimen trees in homes, parks, & commercial sites, & being an evergreen conifer with dense branches, they also make an excellent windbreak. OTHER: Nemesia is an adorable little tender perennial that will add lots of fun color to your garden. These small plants have a neat bushy habit making them a great choice for beds, borders, planted in groups to form a groundcover, or in containers & hanging baskets. They are evergreen in warmer climates. The two-lipped flowers measure ½” across & feature yellow throats that really make ‘em pop. Nemesia’s flowers are fragrant, & will attract bees & butterflies. You will be amazed by how many blooms smother these plants!

A native of South Africa, Nemesia prefers cool weather & does not perform as well in extreme heat & humidity. They do enjoy sun, but in extremely hot areas, a bit of afternoon shade will help keep them cool resulting in a longer bloom time. The plants can also be pinched to encourage more blooms. Nemesia grows quickly, & is very easy to grow from seed. Although they are an annual most places (a tender perennial) they will reseed to give you new plants the following season.

Native to the tropical regions of The Americas, these plants grow best in full sun. They are a climbing vine, so give them something to grow up or trail over. The Cypress Vine is a tender perennial. It can be naturalized in tropical climates. In cooler northern climates, Cypress Vines can be enjoyed as annuals.
