OTHER: Nemesia is an adorable little tender perennial that will add lots of fun color to your garden. These small plants have a neat bushy habit making them a great choice for beds, borders, planted in groups to form a groundcover, or in containers & hanging baskets. They are evergreen in warmer climates. The two-lipped flowers measure ½” across & feature yellow throats that really make ‘em pop. Nemesia’s flowers are fragrant, & will attract bees & butterflies. You will be amazed by how many blooms smother these plants!
A native of South Africa, Nemesia prefers cool weather & does not perform as well in extreme heat & humidity. They do enjoy sun, but in extremely hot areas, a bit of afternoon shade will help keep them cool resulting in a longer bloom time. The plants can also be pinched to encourage more blooms. Nemesia grows quickly, & is very easy to grow from seed. Although they are an annual most places (a tender perennial) they will reseed to give you new plants the following season.

Sainfoin has many beneficial uses. Being a legume, it is able to fix the nitrogen in the soil to make it more fertile so is grown as a cover crop & green manure crop. OTHER: Purple Meadow Rue is perennial flowering herb native to The US & Canada. In nature, the plants are typically found growing in wet prairies, floodplains, & at the edges of steams & wetlands. They do prefer moist soil, but can grow in average garden conditions with average moisture. Meadow Rue also tolerates sandy or rocky soil. The plants are dioecious. The flowering plants have 2' long panicles of flowers that are a creamy white & yellow in color. Purple Meadow Rue is named for its purple stems. The foliage is lacy & quite pretty so you won’t want to cover them up completely, but with a height of up to 6’ tall, I’d recommend placing them somewhere near the back row of the garden :)
The seeds & plant are poisonous if they are ingested. Do not eat. Keep out of reach of children & pets.

OTHER: Amish Paste is an indeterminate heirloom paste tomato with a nice sweet flavor. The roma type fruit is oval to acorn shaped & weighs 8 - 12 oz. Amish Paste Tomatoes have thick flesh & are nearly seedless. The plants are very tolerant to adverse conditions.

OTHER: The Peruvian Ground Cherry is a small shrub originally native to South America. It’s fruit is edible, & they are now grown commercially some places including South America & South Africa. Most places, the fruit is very hard to find in stores, & quite expensive if it can be found, so it is a good one to grow at home!
The edible fruit is about the size of a cherry tomato, & is sweet with a hint of tart. The taste is somewhere between a tomato, a pineapple, & a strawberry. The fruit can be eaten raw as a snack or in salads, canned, made into jams & pies, or dried for later use.
The Peruvian Ground Cherry is related to the tomatillo & Chinese Lantern, has a similar appearance. Like its relatives, The Peruvian Ground Cherry has a poisonous husk, so you will want to be sure to remove it before eating the fruit. The French call it ‘amour en cage’ - love in a cage.
The plants are fast growing, & can be grown as an annual or a perennial in the ground or in containers. They tolerate sandy or heavy clay soil, & some shade. They are very ornamental with heart shaped leaves, spring flowers, brightly colored fruit, & interesting seed pods!

OTHER: Sheepnose is an heirloom sweet pimento type pepper from Ohio. The fruit starts out green & turns to red at maturity. Sheepnose Pimento Peppers have a flattened ribbed globe shape with a 3 - 4" diameter & a height of 2 1/2" – 3”. I happen to think they are quite adorable! Enjoy them in a variety of ways like stuffed with cheese & baked, made into pimento cheese, canned, or dried & ground. Sheepnose Peppers have thick skin and also store well both in the refrigerator & freezer.
