OTHER: Bunium Persicum is native to Central Asia and Northern India. It is not the same as Nigella Sativa, which is also called black cumin. The seeds of Bunium Persicum are dark brown & crescent shaped. The dried seeds are used as a spice, & is popular in Indian, Asian, & Middle Eastern cooking. It can be used as a cumin substitute in any recipe, baked into breads, added to curries, or steamed with rice.
Kala Jeera is the preferred type of cumin, & can be very expensive to purchase, so is a good pick for home growing. They are easy to grow, will tolerate sandy or clay soil, & can even be grown in containers. The plants are fragrant, & will attract birds, bees, & butterflies to your garden.

OTHER: Midget Cantaloupes are both adorable & delicious! These smaller melons grow to 4”, or roughly the size of a softball, & weigh between 8–16 oz. They are the perfect “personal melon” size – grab a spoon & dig in! The fruit has a high sugar content & is very sweet. The fragrant melons have juicy orange flesh beneath thin rinds.
These muskmelons grow on compact plants with good disease resistance & sturdy stalks. Their vines only reach 3-4’, making them a wonderful choice for container gardens. Each plant produces from 6 to 8 melons. The fruit matures much more quickly than that of a full sized cantaloupe, making them a great choice for northern areas with a shorter growing season. They grow so quickly that in moderately warm climates 2 crops can be harvested in a season.

OTHER: This Ironweed is native to The US & Canada. These are a wonderful flower for attracting all kinds of flying beauties! It is a favorite of bees including bumble bees, & butterflies including The Monarch, Painted Lady, & Swallowtail. I can see why! The large clusters of blooms are a lovely magenta color, & Ironweed has a long bloom period. Each flower measures 1/2 - 3/4" wide, with between 30 to 60 flowers to a cluster! They will reseed, but are not at all invasive. The plants are able to tolerate some drought or extra moisture including occasional flooding. They are not picky about soil either, & can grow in clay or gravel. Ironweed is both deer & rabbit resistant.

OTHER: Mother of Thyme is an evergreen flowering herb native to Europe. It is grown both as an edible & as an ornamental. The plants are delightfully fragrant, & its leaves contain essential oils that are used in both in fragrances as well as medicinally.
Thymus pulegioides is similar to thymus serpyllum (creeping thyme) but Mother of Thyme plants are larger with wider leaves & all of its stems produce flowers. Mother of Thyme plants tolerate some light foot traffic & have a somewhat creeping & mat-forming habit, so make an excellent ground cover with their dwarf height. Plant them along walkways, between stepping stones, as a bed border, in a rock garden, fairy garden, or in containers. These plants are drought resistant, deer & rabbit resistant, & can grow in soil that is sandy or rocky without stress.
